Allyson Laquian is a San Francisco and Los Angeles-based Director of Photography, Video Producer, and Filmmaker with over 15 years of experience bringing stories to life through cinematic visuals. She specializes in end-to-end production, leading projects from concept through final delivery while combining technical expertise with a strong instinct for visual storytelling.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Allyson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Cinema from San Francisco State University, where she focused on cinematography and film production. She began her career working in camera and lighting on narrative films, commercials, music videos, and television before expanding into documentary, branded content, editorial, and technology storytelling.
Throughout her career, Allyson has collaborated with companies and productions including Tesla, Dropbox, BuzzFeed, NBC, Comedy Central, Travel Channel, Funny Or Die, and Apple. Whether producing large-scale campaigns, filming autonomous driving technology around the world, directing executives and on-camera talent, or operating camera on fast-paced documentary shoots, she brings a calm, collaborative approach and a deep understanding of every stage of production.
Growing up watching classic films alongside her father, a filmmaker from the Philippines, inspired her lifelong passion for cinema. Today, her creative voice is shaped by that foundation, as well as music, photography, and everyday human moments. She believes the most memorable images are the ones that make people feel something.
Whether she’s behind the camera as a Director of Photography or leading a production from start to finish, Allyson’s goal remains the same: to create thoughtful, visually compelling work that connects with audiences and leaves a lasting impression.
